At The Renaissance Academy, we believe that reading is a vital element in a child’s education. Reading stimulates the imagination, opens doors to the mind and spirit, and also allows us to search and reach for a higher vision and purpose. Every year, we challenge our students to use the summer months to read as many books as possible. They are given a form to fill out, listing the titles of the books, the authors, the number of pages, and rating marks. At our annual Christmas Awards ceremony, we acknowledge the top 3 students in our Summer Reading Challenge. Previous winners have read books numbering as many as in the hundreds during the three months of summer! Please contact the Academy office to participate in the 2011 challenge!
